Kiefer Sutherland dishes on 24 Movie

Via Sky 1:

Sky Magazine: Do you have a favourite season?

Kiefer Sutherland: I love the eigth season.  For the first time the writers were writing aiming for a conclusion, which they’d never been able to do before.  Usually we’re shooting the first four episodes and then we’re desperately working on the fifth, so we quickly caught up with each other.

Sky Magazine:  Was there any part of Jack that wou would have liked to develop more?

Kiefer: I loved the emotional stuff between him and his wife in the first season.  Those are the qualities that I think we’re going to incorporate in the movie.

Sky Magazine: What can you tell us about the 24 movie that’s in the pipeline?

Kiefer:  It’s going to be a two-hour representation of a 24 hour day, so we were not going to be restrained by the real time aspect of the TV show.  With the TV show we always had to have the crisis come to us because we couldn’t move.  Twice we put Jack on a plane and it was a disaster. This will be different – it will be very feasible to get from Eastern Europe to England in the course of 24 hours! And the crisis can be more personal – it doesn’t have to be a huge bomb, it doesn’t have to take out the rest of the world.  It’s very exciting.

Sky Magazine: When will the film be out?

Kiefer: We’ve just finished the screenplay, so it’s a question of production time – I have a couple of movies to do, byt hopefully we’re looking to start in the New Year.
